Picktree Court is a purpose built, luxuriously appointed facility which far exceeds the standards currently in vogue regarding minimum accommodation requirements. The home is established over three floors which provide care independently through allocated teams led by trained and qualified nurses and team leaders. Each floor is registered for specific categories of care, and staffed independently.

We are required to achieve resident bedroom sizes of 12 metre square. And resident social space of 4.1 metre square per resident. We have in fact established resident bedrooms, including en suite, of approx 20 metre square and resident social space of between 8 to 10 metre square on various floors. We have established a luxurious hotel type care home that is not matched in any other in the county.

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission for 62 residential care placements over two floors, and 26 nursing care placements.

All our rooms exceed current requirements in every respect, and benefit from full en suite facilities, to maximise the independence, and preserve the dignity of our residents. We have ensured uninterrupted views from all windows whether or not you enjoy full mobility or use a wheelchair, and all our corridors are extra wide to facilitate ease of movement throughout the home. Every room has the facility to access SKY TV should you wish, and private telephone capability, and you can choose whether you want your television wall mounted or more traditionally placed. We can achieve this as every wall in the home is constructed in block to ensure maximum strength, and a heightened degree of privacy from noise intrusion.

We want you to continue enjoying life and doing all the things you can and want to do, with this in mind we have a fully fitted hairdressing salon on each of the main floors, and a hairdresser on staff who will accommodate regular appointments or perhaps just when you fancy a change. Prices are displayed in every salon.

We also want you to get to know our Activities Coordinator: she will arrange a full timetable of indoor and, weather permitting, outdoor activities, and we welcome your input at every event planning meeting, your views are important to us, and you dictate the agenda. Up to date notification of events and activities will be regularly posted, and we want your participation in formulating a regular newsletter.

Picktree Court has many lounge areas, all thoughtfully furnished and tastefully decorated, and of course all brand new, if you fancy a cup of tea in the Bistro, then just visit, no need to make a reservation, we have three.

All bedrooms are fully ensuite with wet room shower facilities, but we have also made provision for less able residents to take advantage of baths with fully assisted hoists, and larger shower rooms that allow residents more access and staff support. The option of assistance remains yours, all our staff are eager to help you in whatever way they can. Wardrobes are fitted, and our furnishings match perfectly, even if you need a specialist nursing bed to accommodate your needs and safety. Our staff are only a moment away and can be summoned to assist by using the nurse call in your room, and every public area.

Security is always high on our agenda. We have invested in strategically placed, non intrusive closed circuit television monitoring for all entrances, and sensitive internal areas of the building. CCTV does not cover resident areas. Staff access is achieved via our personalised card and fingerprint recognition security and access system, and all others via televisual and voice challenge, before access is allowed.

Every room at Picktree Court benefits from a fully automated mist system which is triggered by a rise in the heat in that area. The room will effectively be subject to an intense water mist which deals with any fire hazard locally without destroying large areas of the building.

PATIO/GARDENS.

We have invested in exterior hard surface patio areas and pathways rather than expanses of grass to maximise use of exterior areas. All areas gain advantage from sunny and shaded areas that allow maximum enjoyment of the grounds. We believe our residents will feel far more secure and have greater access to the exterior of the home by taking this measure, certainly those with impaired mobility will find it far easier to mobilise. All our walkways and patios are constructed of block paving not paving slabs, and planted areas are complimented at intervals by raised brick planters to facilitate access for our less able residents. Our grounds are safe, secure and attractively presented.

We at Premier Care Homes believe food to be an important part of a resident’s life and an important part of our care philosophy.

We provide fresh local produce from local butchers and suppliers, with all meals being cooked by our trained in-house catering staff. We provide a four week rolling menu which offers a wide range of meals and choices so that all needs and preferences can be accommodated.
